We had the opportunity recently to speak with Vittorio Marangoni, CEO of the Marangoni Group, about the shifting dynamics of the global tyre industry and what they mean for the future of tyre retreading.

It was a wide-ranging and candid discussion that touched on the accelerating pace of deindustrialisation in Europe, the shortcomings of current EU regulatory policy, the potential role of technology in supporting the retread sector, and the urgent need for coordinated advocacy within the industry.

A compelling argument emerged that while retreading may not be the primary target of current global trade tensions, it remains exposed to many of the same pressures, and stands to benefit or suffer depending on how policymakers and industry stakeholders respond.
